iPhone 4S When I got my iPhone 4 last year, Apple was giving their bumpers for free because of the "death grip" problem, so I got one, and I did not have any problems with it for just over a year, but then it started to disintegrate.

End of an Era

Yesterday Steve Jobs retired from his position as Apple's CEO, a move that will be unlike the one of 1985, that is, without a return in the future. Is this the end of an era, will Apple change a lot because of this?

Friend's Day / Friendship Day

Some of my friends Yesterday I've seen a lot of people from Brazil on my Twitter and Facebook wishing everybody a happy friend's day, or friendship day. I did not know it was such a day, and this morning I went on to Google about it (as I do with everything...), and I found out that, well, it wasn't, not exactly. Not here in the UK (or the Isle of Man), and not exactly in Brazil either.

There's a very big myriad of online backup services and it is very hard to choose from one of them, since all of them offer different features. I have been using and trying a few of them for a while now, and since Apple is about to launch its own service, iCloud, I thought it was a good opportunity to write about this subject and relay what I have found about some of the services I've used.

The previous article explained the concept of files and folders and mentioned how to deal with and organise files, and it ended with a promise that the next article would be about keeping your files safe with backups, so let's talk about that now. Backups are usually seen as a necessary pain, and it is a pain. They cost money, computer time, at least a little of your time initially, disk space, and you will put all that effort into something you will (hopefully) hardly ever use.

I've decided to talk a little about computer files. Simple subject, but I've seen a lot of people with tons of small difficulties towards them, because some of the concepts used today are not fully understood. I will also talk a little about keeping files safe, not only by having antiviruses and backups, but also by keeping things organised and simple to find.
