About Me

Me, Sep 2010If you wanted to know a bit more about me, you came to the right place.

My name is Felipe Ceotto and I am from Brazil. Currently I live on the Isle of Man, in the middle of the Irish Sea, and I have been living here since 2007, after having lived for 1 year in London.

I am 30 years old, married, have a son, and currently working as the I.T. Manager and Developer for a commodities trading company, Tristão Services. I am passionate about technology in general and, having worked mostly as a software engineer before, I keep my developing skills as sharp as possible and continue to work in personal development projects as well as occasional private projects.

My hobbies include photography, cooking, taekwondo, video games, and, although it is also work, computers in general, and I've created this website to have a combined outlet for all of these and any other things I might find interesting to share with the world.

You might be wondering why this website is called "Ceottaki", and there's a little story behind it. In 1995, I was 15 and living in Vitória - ES when Tropical Net, the first Internet Service Provider of that state, started operating, and I went to work for them as a website designer. My dad was also known to the owners of what was then a small company, and because of how much I look like my dad, as many before them, they started calling me by the diminutive of my last name. I never really liked that, so they, being all from Greek families, suggested the Greek diminutive. My last name is Ceotto. The suffix "aki" in Greek means "little one". Ceottaki was born and it became my Internet identity.

Tropical Net was for me a great learning ground where I had the opportunity to move between different areas of technology. In 1996 I started studying for my technical degree in Informatics at IFES (then ETFES), graduating in 1999 when I entered the university to study Computer Science at UFES.

After Tropical Net I had the opportunity to work as an intern for the Informatics Department of the university, as a programmer inside ArcelorMittal (then CST) working for a third-party company, as an instructor of development languages again for the university, and had the opportunity to be a partner and developer manager for CASE Tecnologia with some of my good friends from high school.

Finally, by the end of 2005 I received the proposition to come to London to work for Tristão U.K. as their I.T. Manager, which I accepted and started in that position in 2006. After one year I was transferred to the Isle of Man, where the main operations are, working for Tristão Services.

So, here I am. If you would like to know more, please contact me.
